CORONA VIRUS INFECTION – PREVENTION AND AWARENESS PROGRAMME DAY Organized by Extension Activity Centre (NSS, YRC, RRC) As per the directions of Higher Education, Department Secretariat, Chennai, the Awareness Programme on Corona Virus Prevention was conducted at SNS College of Engineering on 11.03.2020. Dr. A. Kowshika, Assistant Professor welcomed the gathering, Dr.V.P. Arunachalam, Director, Dr.S.Charles, Principal addressed the gathering. Dr.Kannan Maharaj, Chief Medical officer, Government Hospital, Madukkarai gave a brief and clear explanation about the outbreak, spread, and prevention of the epidemic. Few of the preventive measures were washing hands 2 hours ones, Cleaning and spraying the Lysol solution in a ratio of 1:9 with water. The student volunteers actively involved themselves in demonstrating the practices to prevent coronaviruses and advocated the hygiene measures to be undertaken inside the college premises and at home. About 150 students participated in this program and gained awareness.
